The Stevenage and District Model Railway Club is an established & thriving model railway club. Our membership covers a diverse range of interests, in various scales, both UK & foreign, from the steam era to today’s modern image.
We are always pleased to welcome new members including junior members (over 10 years of age) who must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Meetings are held in our own premises, the former Baptist Chapel in the village of Datchworth, Hertsfordshire, only 15 minutes by car south of Stevenage town centre, and free car parking is available in the adjacent village hall car park.
We have five main layouts; a permanent ‘O’ gauge (currently being rebuilt), portable ‘OO’, ‘N’ and ‘O’ gauge layouts which are all exhibited at model railway exhibitions, and a Junior Layout for exhibition guest to have a go at driving trains. Not all layouts are available within the Club House at all times, although we aim to provide access to all 3 gauges at each running session.
